LL Cool J give an impressive performance in Kingdom Come.
Movie: Kingdom Come

Rating: PG

Summary: Kingdom Come is the story of a family coming together despite their disagreements. Uncle Bud dies suddenly, and the whole family gathers for his funeral. Through the course of the movie there are many issues and clashes that surface between family members. The ways that each character chooses to deal with his or her problems is the heart of this movie.

My view: This movie was not what I expected. I was anticipating a slapstick comedy that would be funny throughout the whole thing. This was actually a serious movie about issues that many people can relate to. It did have plenty of light-hearted moments, though. I really did enjoy it. The plot was appealing and the acting good. I was surprised and impressed by the acting performance of LL Cool J. He really did a superior job! In addition to him, the star-studded cast included Jada Pinkett Smith, Whoopi Goldberg, Toni Braxton and Vivica Fox.

Favorite part: The last scene in the movie was my favorite. The family and friends were all gathered in the church to remember Uncle Bud. There were a lot of mixed emotions being expressed, but in the end, it just left me feeling good.

Least favorite part: At some points during the film, the plot seemed to be barely moving along. I was a little bored during those slow sections, but that didn't seem to take much away from the overall quality of this flick.

Recommendations: I think this is basically a good family movie. There isn't much bad language, and the story is engaging. Younger kids will probably lose interest quickly, so I recommend this movie for ages 12 and up.

Grade: A-
