Gatlin -- Frank Wildhorn's musical The Civil War, starring Larry Gatlin, plays Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center May 8-13. $19.50-$61.50.

McCourt -- A Couple of Blaguards by Frank and Malachy McCourt is at American Stage May 11-June 3. $20-$28.

Composers -- Works by Wayne Berman, Carson Cooman, Vernon Taranto and others are on a May 12 program of the Tampa Bay Composers' Forum at the Palladium Theater. $8 and $10.

Grant -- The off-Broadway hit Snakebit by David Marshall Grant opens May 17 and runs through June 3 at Gorilla Theatre. $14 and $17.

Weilerstein -- Cellist Alisa Weilerstein performs Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations with the Florida Orchestra May 18-20. $20-$38.

Opera -- Aaron Copland's opera for young people, The Second Hurricane, is staged by the Sarasota Youth Opera May 18-20. $5 and $10.
