Kevin Collins, a Pasco-Hernando Community College freshman and Land O'Lakes high graduate, has signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs. The terms were not disclosed.
Collins was drafted by the Cubs last June in the 24th round. The designated hitter batted .280 this year for PHCC, leading the team in doubles (10), home runs (12) and RBI (49). He was selected all-conference. Collins will report next week to the Cubs rookie camp in Arizona.
