UU INFORMATION CLASS: A new Unitarian Universalists class will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on four consecutive Thursday evenings beginning Thursday. This series is designed for those who are curious about the Unitarian Universalist religious community and will provide information about its history and congregational life. It will also give you the opportunity to explore the spiritual journeys of fellow seekers. It will be led by the Rev. Abhi Janamanchi and lifelong Unitarian Universalist Macey Smith. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE DISCUSSION: Jeanne Pugh will present a program called "Recent Assaults on Separation of Church and State" at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Unitarian Universalists of Clearwater, 2470 Nursery Road. Pugh is a former religion editor at the St. Petersburg Times. She is past president of Americans United for Separation of Church and State and is on the group's board of directors. LEARN ABOUT LUTHERANS: Beginning Wednesday, St. Matthias Lutheran Church will host a six-week Lutheran study series at the church, 2751 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater. The discussion will be at noon each Wednesday (bring a lunch), or you can participate in fellowship at 7 p.m. each Wednesday. Call (727) 796-2200.

PRAYER BREAKFAST: The 26th annual Largo Mayor's Prayer Breakfast will be from 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1199 Highland Ave., Largo. The speaker will be Alan Winfield, chief meteorologist at Bay News 9. Tickets cost $5.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION: First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin will celebrate its 130th birthday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the church, 455 Scotland St., Dunedin. There will be church tours, prizes, a petting zoo, food, music and games. Call (727) 733-2318.

PRAYER BREAKFAST: Deborah H. Powe of Revealing Truth Ministries Christian Center will be the guest speaker at the Pinellas Ladies Prayer Breakfast, 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday at the Harborview Center, 300 Cleveland St., Clearwater. UNITED METHODIST BANQUET: Bishop Timothy Wayne Whitaker, the new leader of the Florida Annual Conference, a jurisdiction of 340,000 United Methodists east of the Apalachicola River to Key West, will be the keynote speaker at the St. Petersburg District Builders Club Banquet. The event will begin at 5 p.m. May 6 at First United Methodist Church, 501 East Tarpon Ave., Tarpon Springs. Reservations are required by noon Monday. Call (727) 585-1207.
