NEW TAMPA -- A recent New Tampa Rotary Club pancake breakfast with a 6-foot Easter Bunny raised $2,700 for Mort Elementary School's reading program and God's Pedal Power Ministry.

About 400 parents and their children attended the April 15 breakfast at Compton Park.

The Rotary Club hopes to repeat the breakfast next year because of its success.

God's Pedal Power Ministry buys and repairs old bicycles and gives them to children or single parents without cars.
