ST. PETERSBURG -- A clothing chain based in Savannah, Ga., opened three stores in Florida on Friday, two of them here.
Allied Fashions Inc. opened Citi Trends Fashions for Less at Central Plaza and Coquina Key Plaza. The third store is in Lakeland.
The stores sell clothing and home furnishings at discount prices, according to Billy Graves, director of store development for Allied.
"We sell all types of family clothing, career and fashion for all ages, although (ages) 18 to 40 are our key customers," Graves said.
The stores do not sell shoes, and of the two in St. Petersburg, only the Central Plaza store at 3275 Central Ave. will carry home furnishings such as comforters, pillows, bedspreads and the like, Graves said.
Allied has 105 stores throughout the Southeast. Three already are located in Florida, in Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Madison, which is near the Georgia border.
