Tubolino signs

River Ridge fullback and defensive back Mike Tubolino said Monday he has signed with Division II Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.

Tubolino, a three-time Times All-County selection, visited the school last month and said he officially signed a few weeks ago.

"I liked the program and I liked the way they did things," Tubolino said.

Tubolino was slowed for much of last year with an eye injury, but still finished second on the team in rushing.

In 1999, Tubolino rushed for 968 yards and scored 10 times, and ran for 299 yards as a sophomore in part-time duty.

Tubolino said the Fighting Blue Bear coaches told him he would either play slotback or linebacker in college, and might do so right away.
