ST. PETERSBURG -- Ruth R. McCormack, a hair stylist for more than two years at the Haircutting Co. Inc. at 231 Central Ave., purchased the salon in March.

McCormack said she bought the salon from Joe Connell, who still owns J.Con Hair Designs, a salon at 8501 Fourth St. N. McCormack, 27, declined to say how much she paid for the Haircutting Co., citing a confidentiality agreement.

McCormack said she plans some remodeling in 12 to 18 months. She is one of four stylists at the salon, which also has a nail technician. McCormack said the Haircutting Co. has a client base of about 1,500.
