Free adoption seminar is today in Tampa

Adoption Resources of Florida, International, a Florida-licensed, non-profit domestic and international adoption agency, hosts a free seminar for individuals who may be interested in adopting a child, at 7 p.m. today at the agency office, 112 S Armenia Ave., Tampa. Searching for a furry addition to your family? Visit the Pinellas County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals "Adopt-a-thon" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the shelter, 9099 130th Ave. N, Largo. Take a "Behind the Scenes" tour of the facility at 2 or 4 p.m., or learn more about your pets at the pet behavior training demonstrations at 2:15 and 4:15 p.m. A free Devil Rays baseball ticket will be given out with each adoption. Fashion show, luncheon to benefit epileptics

The Suncoast Epilepsy Association presents its sixth annual "Pearls of the SEA Luncheon, Fashion Show and Silent Auction" beginning at 11 a.m. May 20 at St. Petersburg Bayfront Hilton, 333 First St. S, St. Petersburg. Proceeds will benefit needy people with epilepsy in Pinellas and Pasco counties. Tickets are $40 per person. Sponsorships are available. For more information, call the association at 546-2856.

YMCA offers new facility for membership info

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is opening an information trailer at the new site, 3200 First Ave. S, St. Petersburg on May 14. Special promotional joiner rates will be available.
