NEW IN TOWN
Looking for the old Sandpiper? Instead you'll find pressed Cubans, ropa vieja, black beans and more at Cuban Delight Cafe (2950 49th St. N, St. Petersburg, (727) 328-7335), just opened by Trish and Nelson Guerra. Lunches and dinners run from $3.50 to $10.
BRUNCH BUNCH
Now offering brunch with artful funk is Ambrosia (201 Seventh Ave., St. Petersburg; (727) 898-5194). Menu, from stuffed french toast and poached eggs to salads and pastas, is $4 to $13.95.

Dish in BayWalk and Centro Ybor adds omelets, pancakes and juices to its mix-'n'-match format for a Sunday brunch. It's $14.75 per person; $9.95 for kids younger than 10.

New owners of New City Bistro (3333 S West Shore, Tampa; (813) 805-0250) now do brunch. New City vets Michael Streeter and John White will rename it Cilantro Grill & Cantina but keep its Southwestern fusion. Lobster omelets and enchilada frittatas are the wild side of brunch, $4 to $10.

Green Springs (122 Third Ave. N, Safety Harbor; (727) 669-6762) will serve its last brunch this month. Instead, it will open for Monday lunch and add cooking classes.
I'LL HAVE ANOTHER ...
Vegetarian menu. Extra nightly menu at Antipasto's (2202 W Platt, Tampa; (813) 259-1169) lists five clever organic bites, like Greek dolmades made with baby collard greens around basmati or spring rolls stuffed with roast tomato and peppers with curry oil and wasabi avocado dips. At $3 to $4.50, one gives a carnivore a change of taste, two make a veggie meal.
