Convicted predator gets 60-year termBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published May 4, 2001 TARPON SPRINGS -- Registered sexual predator Herman Wesley Clary has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for violating his probation on 1994 convictions for sexual offenses against four children. Police had charged that Clary violated his probation last year by molesting two children younger than 16 and trying to molest a third. He was sentenced Monday after an evidentiary hearing at which he was found guilty, according to court records. Clary, 58, is scheduled to go to trial for the 2000 charges on July 23, said Kandice Friesen, a senior assistant public defender. Records show that Clary, who lived at 1092 Island Ave., has been at the Pinellas County Jail since September and remained there Thursday in lieu of $70,000 bail. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
