Eclectic offerings

New shows feature printmakers, environmentally conscious works, monumental outdoor sculptures and an emerging artist from Tampa.

PRINTS IN PROFUSION -- The Dunedin Fine Art Center hosts two complementary exhibits: Florida Printmakers 11th National Print Exhibition (showing only here and in Miami) and the Florida Printmakers Exhibition, both opening today with a gallery talk, 6 p.m., and reception, 7 to 9 p.m. The shows continue through June 18 during hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. KLEINBARD, KING -- Environmentally conscious works by Alexa Kleinbard of Tallahassee and monumental outdoor sculptures by Peter King of Pensacola go on view Saturday at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art. Both shows run through June 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Free. ROSENDE AT CLAYTON -- Tampa emerging artist Stacy Rosende exhibits works in several media at Clayton Galleries, opening with a meet-the-artist reception 7 to 9 tonight. The show continues through June 3 during hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Free. 4105 S MacDill Ave., Tampa; (813) 831-3753.

Around the bay

The Pinellas County Arts Council honors four leading supporters of the arts at the annual Friends of the Arts Awards ceremony, to be held at 6 p.m. May 23 at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.

Winners and their categories are: Nan Colton, artist; Richard A. Rice, arts educator; Mary Wyatt Allen, arts patron; and Tech Data Corp., business patron. They were chosen from nominees submitted by the public. Each recipient receives a leaded-glass torchiere created by St. Petersburg artist Lenn Neff.

The event is free and open to the public by reservation at (727) 507-4114. The museum is at 255 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg.
