There aren't many waterfront bait shops left in Florida. MacRae's on the Homosassa River is a throwback to days many natives long for. It's open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day but Christmas. Stand on their dock and watch the manatees or buy some shrimp and try your luck at fishing. MacRae's Bait Shop, 5300 S. Cherokee Way, Homosassa, (352) 628-2602.
