Sonny's plans to move up
Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q, a longtime fixture at 3805 Northdale Boulevard in the Northdale Shopping Center is building a new restaurant a few blocks south on N Dale Mabry.
"We're shooting to have it open by Aug. 1," said Theresa Randall, assistant to the president of Tricor Inc., the Charlotte, N.C.-based company that owns the restaurant. "Our lease is up and we have tried to get out of the in-line shopping centers. We do much better when we are free standing."
Workers are already clearing the land at the corner of N Dale Mabry and Carrollwood Springs Boulevard, across the street from Target.
"Our hopes are to shut the one and open the other the next day," Randall said. No employees are expected to be affected by the move, she said.
