Candles, sandals, home accessories and puppies are some of the new offerings.

ST. PETERSBURG -- Tyrone Square Mall is getting eight new stores, four of which are local enterprises.
Mary Jane's Scents & Non-Scents has been operating on the boardwalk in John's Pass Village in Madeira Beach for five years. It specializes in custom-made candles. Mary Jane Marshall, who owns the store with her daughter Eileen Boykin, said representatives from the mall visited the beach store and asked if she would be interested in expanding to the mall.
"They thought our concept would do well at the mall," Marshall said. In addition to candles, which include sculptured ones, the store sells candle accessories and one-of-a-kind gift items. Marshall said she and her daughter make most of the candles they sell.
The two already were looking for a location for a second store and decided to try the mall after they were approached. They will open a small shop just outside Dillard's June 1.
Steve Grgic and Ted Ciske were finishing last-minute details Thursday at their store Pandemonium, which features funky home accessories, gift items, lamps, novelty jewelry and Dirty Girl bath products. The pair owns another store at Tyrone Square called Hot Flash. Pandemonium opened Friday at noon.
"We moved this one from Ybor city. People go to Ybor to drink and party," said Grgic, figuring shopping will be better at Tyrone.
"We wanted to do something different," Ciske said, "something with more of a street edge in the mall."
The two are looking for merchandise such as jewelry, neon pieces and glasswork by local artists to sell.
Street Scenes is a young men's clothing store aiming for a May 15 opening, according to manager Jean Abraham. It features casual wear such as jeans, T-shirts and tops. Street Scenes is taking a spot near JCPenney that was occupied by Wall Street for Men, also Abraham's store. Wall Street will move into the old Paul Harris location at the mall. Wall Street offers dressier clothing for men at moderate prices, Abraham said.
Natural Comfort Footwear will open its seventh local store in July. It already is operating at John's Pass on Madeira Beach. The Tyrone Square location will be managed by Randy Duplessis, who described the store's stock as almost all sandals. The upscale footwear is for men and women. The store will be in the mall's center court.
New national and international retailers at Tyrone at 66th Street and 22nd Avenue N include Mr. Puppy, Electronics Boutique, Wilsons Leather and Styles.
Mr. Puppy already is open and offers pure-bred puppies for sale along with supplies and products for them. It is located near Sears.
Electronics Boutique opens in June near Dillard's and will stock more than 2,000 different computer software titles, according to the mall.
Wilsons Leather is an international retailer and sells leather clothing and accessories for women and men. It will be located near JCPenney and is expected to open in July.
Styles opens in August and sells fashion trends, accessories and sports wear. It will settle near Sears.
