SEMINOLE -- A 14-year-old girl was in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center on Monday, two days after being struck by a car as she crossed a street.

Jayme A. Seybold of Largo was walking across 102nd Avenue N about a quarter-mile west of Starkey Road when she was struck about 9:26 p.m. Saturday, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

The 1995 Acura that hit her was driven by Ryan Adams, 21, of 9815 Lake Seminole Drive in Largo, troopers reported. He will not be charged, troopers said.

A hospital spokeswoman said Jayme was in critical condition Monday afternoon. Family members could not be reached for comment. Jayme attended Osceola Middle School until December, when she stopped attending to be home-schooled, according to school officials.
