Pasco County School Calendar: May 25 is the last day of school.

Academy at the Farm Charter School: Applications are being accepted for the 2002 school year. Call (352) 588-9737 for information.

Centennial Elementary: Spring Concert, 6:30 p.m. May 17 in the cafeteria.

Denham Oaks Elementary: Band Concert, 6:30 p.m. May 17 in the cafeteria. Fifth-grade Banquet and Award Ceremony, 12:30 p.m. May 23. Parents may attend the ceremony at 2 p.m. followed by a reception.

Land O'Lakes High: Senior Final Farewell, 7 p.m. May 18 in the commons area.

Pine View Middle: Street Fair, May 16. Advisory Council meets at 4 p.m. May 17 in the cafeteria. Spring Concert, 7 p.m. May 22 at the Pasco Center for the Arts at Wesley Chapel High School.

Sand Pine Elementary: PTA General Assembly, 6:30 p.m. May 22 in the cafeteria. PTA officer elections will be held. Activities include games and prizes with Radio Disney, refreshments and door prizes.

The Academy at the Farm Charter School will hold its inaugural "An Evening in the Country," from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Lange Farm Equestrian and Special Events Center, 9633 Hardcart Road, Dade City. Attendees of this event will be treated to a casual western atmosphere under the stars while enjoying dinner, entertainment, and live and silent auctions. Cost is $50 per person. Pasco Middle School's Outstanding Students for the month of March were: Kelley O'Brien, Hilary Allen, Billy Eble, Travis Van Buren, Jacob Hinkle, Ryan Boyett, Katty Romero, Sandy Ponce, L.J. Burgoyne, Teodora Romero, Daniel Roberts, Amanda Cummings, Dre McClendon, Tiffany Pearson, Jazmin Taylor and Daniel Williams. Students who made the most gains in CCC Lab Classes for the month of February were: Readers Workshop: Megan Wynn, Anayeli James-Ramirez, Danielle Gamez. Math Concepts and Skills: Mike Onyskin, Juanita Diaz, Elizabeth Mendoza.

In the "Readiness for College Report," Pasco High School scored above the state and county averages in both math and reading. While state averages were 70.7 percent and 75.7 percent for math and reading, respectively, and county scores were 72.7 percent and 79.5 percent, respectively, Pasco High's scores were 84.8 percent for math and 86.6 percent for reading.

Jimmy Cracchiolo, a senior at Wesley Chapel High School, has been named the Council for Exceptional Children's Exceptional Student Friend of the Year. He also has received recognition as the Pasco County Special Olympics Student Coach of the Year for volunteering and for his significant contributions to students in the exceptional education program at the school. Kayla Pate received straight superior ratings at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival held April 21 in Daytona Beach. Yasmine Wilt was named a district winner in the PRIDE Writing Award.

The Land O'Lakes High School Thespians recently competed at Florida Thespians District competition held in Ocala and earned 12 superior and 11 excellent ratings. Jeremy Barber, who was chosen best of 45 students in Solo Musical, showcased at the closing ceremonies with I Only Want to Say, fromJesus Christ Superstar. Jeremy Barber and Laura Ayoub earned straight superiors in three musical events. Sara Connolly won Critic's Choice in playwriting and went on to represent District 12 in state competition. Superiors in one-act performance: Amy Virant, Justin Kerr and Joey Johns. Amy Virant won the All-Star Cast Award. Technical crew members earning Superior and Best of District: Megan Kaestner, Jennifer Hitchman, Taylor Ashley, Olivia Brown, Susan Fisher, Audra Nuru, Monica Vicente and Nichole Williamson. Superiors in monologue: Christi Harrington, Audra Nuru, Virant. Superiors in duet acting: Christi Harrington, Nathan Weinberg. Excellent in duet acting: Chris Clarke, Megan Kaestner, Sara Connolly, Joey Johns. Superior in ensemble acting: Sara Connolly, Julia Hopping, Amber Sorenson. Excellent in ensemble acting:Taylor Ashley, Jennifer Hitchman, Ashley Patton, Courtney Brooks, Lindsay Collore, Kristen Miltenberger, Laura Skrodski, Kellee Teston.
