Dixie Hollins' Andre Hall has signed with Georgia Perimeter College, a junior college in Dunwoody, Ga.
Hall (5 feet 10, 180 pounds) was rated the No. 13 senior prospect in the area by the Times.
After not playing as a sophomore and junior, Hall rushed for a Pinellas County-best 1,742 yards on 227 carries (7.7 average) in 8 1/2 games and was a Times first-team All-County and All-Suncoast selection.
An AAU boys team from Pinellas County recently won the Disney Wide World of Sports 2001 Spring Classic in the 16-and-under division.
The team has 10 boys from six Pinellas schools.
It went undefeated in pool play, averaging 101 points in the three wins. It then overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Association 73-67.
In the championship, the Pinellas squad overcame a 15-point deficit to beat the Orlando Spartans 72-70.
The winning basket came on a steal and layup by Indian Rocks Christian's Gabe McMillan with 1.6 seconds remaining.
The team already has qualified for the National AAU Championships in Detroit in June.
