Performances to beguile dance loversBy Times staff © St. Petersburg Times, published May 12, 2000 Three bay area dance companies have upcoming performances. St. Petersburg's Ballet Society, along with stars of the London City Ballet, perform a mixed program of ballet and modern works this weekend. "The mission of the Society is to preserve the integrity of classical ballet, and this collaboration will enhance the classical ballet offering in the area," artistic director Sean Musselman said. Performances are at 8 tonight and Saturday night at the Palladium Theater. Tickets are $8-$25. Call (727) 823-7822. Moving Current, a modern dance collective, gives performances of new works by Scott Crawford, Stacee Lanz, Vicki Somoya and other choreographers May 19-20 at Theater 1 on the USF campus in Tampa. On May 21, the Chamber Ballet Company, featuring Andre Ustinov and Elena Martinson, dances excerpts of Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty and Dracula at the Palladium. Tickets are $8 and $12.
