Swing into Mother's Day

A swing music weekend continues today at Rock Crusher Canyon Garden Pavilion with a special Mother's Day dance.
Entertainment director Johnny Baier leads the new house band, the Garden Pavilion Quartet, for a dance party from 5 to 10 p.m.
The Pavilion Quartet plays all types of dance music with a swing flavor. Selections include favorites from the big bands of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and other popular dance tunes of the last five decades.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for a buffet dinner at 6. Music will be offered from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $22 at the door today. The pavilion is at 275 S Rock Crusher Road. Call 795-1313.

The funny thriller I'll Be Back Before Midnight continues today and Sunday at the Citrus County Art League, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., off County Road 486 west of Hernando.
The play is about the troubled life of a young woman, Jan (Cathy Pszanka), whose husband takes her to a remote farmhouse for some relaxation. The woman suffers from the after-effects of a nervous breakdown, and he thinks time in the country might help soothe her jangled psyche. Problems arise from a stalker neighbor and a haunted house. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. today. Sunday matinee begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door. Call 746-7606.
Disc jockeys Charlie and Gloria play dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Beverly Hills Recreation Association, 77 Civic Circle. Admission is $3 for members, $4 for non-members. Call 746-4882.
The Crazy Carol Comedy Show will be presented at 8 p.m. today at the American Legion Post 155, 6585 W State Road 44, Crystal River. Tickets for the show are $4, and dinner will be served from 3 to 7 p.m. for an additional $5.
The 18-hour Relay For Life walkathon concludes at noon today at the Lecanto High football stadium.
