Dene Herrmann, 7407 Duke Drive, was riding with Robert Dana Clough, 19, 12612 College Hill Drive as they drove east on Embassy at 10:15 p.m. According to a report, Clough didn't stop for the red light, and his car was hit by a Mazda driven by Thomas White, 25, 8645 Old Post Road. Clough's car overturned and ejected Herrmann. Police said White fled the crash scene. According to his arrest report, White returned when he found out police were looking for him. White was charged with one count leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and another count of leaving a fatal accident. A highway patrol report said other charges were being considered. Herrmann was pronounced dead at the scene. Clough was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
