BASEBALL: Eckerd camp

Eckerd College will have a camp for boys and girls 6-14 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 18-22 and June 25-29. The fee is $125 per week. For information, call (727) 864-8253.

Fossil Park sign-ups

Fossil Park Senior League registration will continue through May 19 at the Fossil Park concession stand, 6635 M.L. King (Ninth) St. N. Sign-ups are open to individuals 15-18 or teams. Coaches are needed. The league starts in June and continues through July. For information, call 525-6155.

BASKETBALL: Eckerd camps

The fundamental camp: For boys and girls 7-17. It is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. June 11-15 and June 25-29. The fee is $185 per week.

The beginners camp: For boys and girls 7-12. It will run 8:30 a.m.-noon, June 11-15 and June 25-29. The fee is $95 per week.

The residential camp: For boys 10-16. It will be at the Florida Elks Youth Camp in Umatilla, near Ocala. The fee is $325 per week.

FOOTBALL: Officials sought

The Sunshine Football Officials of Pinellas County is seeking men and women interested in becoming officials for youth and high school games. Candidates must be at least 17 years old. Training is available. For information, call Robb Robbins, (727) 570-8177, or Phillip Kelly, (727) 559-0295.


The Pinellas Park youth organization will have registration on these dates: Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; June 2, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; June 12, 6:30-8 p.m.; June 16, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; June 17, 6:30-8 p.m.; June 30, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; July 14, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; and July 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The fee is $60 for players and $50 for cheerleaders. A birth certificate, Social Security number, two small photos and a parent or guardian are needed to register. For information, call 541-4292.

Rattlers sign-ups

The Childs Park program will be having registration Saturday and May 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Childs Park Recreation Center, 4301 13th Ave. S. GOLF: Schedule

Saturday, 1 p.m. -- Palm Harbor Word of Faith Tournament at Seven Springs Golf Club in New Port Richey. It is a four-person scramble that costs $65, which includes a chicken dinner and prizes. Call Joe Weingarten, 787-1545.

May 24, 9 a.m. -- Seminole Family Restaurant Benefit Tournament for the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. A four-person scramble at Seminole Lake Country Club. Entry fee of $65 includes lunch and awards. Call 392-5950 or 577-1346.

May 26, 1:30 p.m. -- Boys & Girls Club of Tarpon Springs Tournament at Silver Dollar Golf Club in Odessa. Fee of $60 includes awards and food. Call 937-6837 for details.

June 2, 1:30 p.m. -- A Brighter Day scramble at Cove Cay. Fee of $100 includes lunch and awards banquet. Sponsorships available. Call 381-5103.

June 9, 1:15 p.m. -- Equither Tournament at Cove Cay, a fund-raising event to provide therapeutic horseback riding for handicapped children and adults. To register or serve as a volunteer, call 723-8129 in Clearwater.

June 23, 7:15 a.m. -- Seventh annual Boca Ciega High School Alumni Association "Pirate" Tournament at Mangrove Bay. Entry of $70 includes greens fee, cart and lunch. HOCKEY: Jr. Lightning

The Tampa Bay program has scheduled tryouts. For the Squirts division (ages 10 and under), tryouts are Friday, 6:20 p.m., and Sunday, 9:45 a.m. For Pee Wees (12-and-under), tryouts are Saturday, 3:30 p.m., and Monday, 7:30 p.m. For Bantams (14-and-under), it's Saturday, 4:45 p.m., and Sunday, 5 p.m.; and for Midget (17-and-under), it's Saturday, 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. All tryouts will be at Sunblades Ice Arena, 13940 Icot Blvd. near Largo. The fee is $40 per player. Individuals selected to a team will pay a deposit of $300, to be applied toward full registration fees for next season.
