SPRING HILL -- A Spring Hill man accused of trying to run over his father with a truck faces charges of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and criminal mischief. Canino Romero, 30, of 1283 Talpa St. was arrested Friday after he got into a fight with his father over missing money in the father's bank account. The two were at New York Experience, 11060 Spring Hill Drive, a sheriff's report said. The father, Alfredo Romero, 60, of 10221 Spring Hill Drive told deputies he had to jump to avoid being struck by his son's truck as it sped toward him. The son crashed his 1989 Chevy truck into the father's vehicle, a 1983 Pontiac, damaging the father's car, a report said. The younger Romero was taken to the Hernando County Jail, where he was released Saturday on $500 bail.
