Class notesBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published May 17, 2001 LISA WILLIS GOLF TOURNAMENT: Co-workers of CREST School teacher's aide Lisa Willis have organized a four-person scramble golf tournament with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m Saturday at Plantation Inn and Golf Resort in Crystal River to help defray Willis' medical costs. ALTERNATIVE CALENDAR: Lecanto Primary School is seeking students to attend school on the alternative calendar schedule. Students attend school the same number of days as the traditional calendar, but breaks during the year differ. Students following the alternative calendar attend school in nine-week blocks followed by three-week breaks. There is a four-week break during the summer. HOME-SCHOOL GRADS: Parents of home-schooled 2001 graduates are invited to call Paulette Lash Ritchie at 860-7305 for possible mention in the Citrus Times. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PLAN AVAILABLE: Citrus Springs Middle School Advisory Enhancement Council continuous improvement plan for the 2001-2002 school year is available for public review. PGE ENHANCEMENT REVIEW: The Pleasant Grove Elementary 2001-2002 school enhancement plan is available for review in the school office. FCE ENHANCEMENT REVIEW: Floral City Elementary's 2001-2001 continuous improvement plan is available for review in the school's front office. SCIENCE RESEARCH FAIR: The Academy of Environmental Science will hold its first Academy of Environmental Science Research Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event includes a $5 fish fry dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities will include Salt River canoe tours, environmental activities and displays by academy students, Crystal River Mariculture Center, St. Martins Marsh Aquatic Preserve and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Adopt-A-Redfish program from the Crystal River Mariculture Center will be held for 5- to 15-year-olds from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the fish will be released into the Salt River.
