LAND O'LAKES -- Authorities have identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal crash at the busy intersection of Ehren Cutoff and U.S. 41.
A. Louren Supp, 82, of 7987 Griswold Loop in New Port Richey, died instantly when her 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck by a rock truck about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
Supp was hit by the truck as she tried to turn south onto U.S. 41 from Ehren Cutoff.
The rock truck, driven by 37-year-old Jorge Fuentes of Tampa, was headed north on U.S. 41 at about 35 mph and could not have avoided a collision, the highway patrol reported.
Investigators said the accident was Supp's fault. Fuentes, who was not injured, had the right of way and was not cited.
