The recently imposed watering restrictions can be confusing. If you live in unincorporated Pinellas County or Clearwater, or 19 municipalities served by Pinellas County Utilities, here are the rules you must follow:

Even-numbered addresses or those ending in letters A through M:

Watering with potable water or from wells is allowed on Tuesdays from midnight to 8 a.m. OR from 6 p.m. to midnight, but not at both times.

Odd-numbered addresses or those ending in letters N through Z or with no address:

Watering with potable water or from wells is allowed on Sundays from midnight to 8 a.m. OR 6 p.m. to midnight, but not at both times.

Reclaimed water users:

Not restricted, though the Southwest Florida Water Management District asks that it not be used between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

New sod and plants:

Watering is allowed each day for the first 30 days after planting. But never between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Car washing:

Allowed any time, but only with a hose that uses a shut-off nozzle.

The fine:

A first offense gets a warning. But second and subsequent offenses get fines ranging from $60 to $500.

In Dunedin

Residents of homes with odd-numbered addresses may water only on Fridays between midnight and 10 a.m. Even-numbered addresses may water only on Tuesdays between midnight and 10 a.m.
