Construction worker charged with stealing woman's wallet
CRYSTAL RIVER -- A construction worker was arrested early Thursday on charges that he robbed a woman of her wallet at the Port Paradise Resort hotel. The victim, who was not identified in Citrus County Sheriff Office's arrest papers, said Douglas Poteet, 38, of 1400 S Estuary Drive, Crystal River, entered her room around midnight, pushed her on the bed, held her down and took her wallet containing $160. He was not armed. Poteet said he had been in the room earlier in the evening but denied taking the wallet. He was being held on the charge of unarmed robbery at the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto Thursday evening on $10,000 bail.
