YOU DON'T SAY
When Jason Tyner got to his new locker in the Rays clubhouse Friday he had something waiting for him -- a Tiny Tyner. Someone got a pair of cleats, propped two bats up in them, draped a Tyner jersey over the bats, added batting gloves for hands and stuck a hat on top, providing a mini version of the Rays outfielder. No player was willing to own up to the deed, though, until Tyner called him out. "Is this yours, Coxie?" Tyner asked Steve Cox, knowing it was the Rays first baseman striking again. "Welcome back, Tiny," was Cox's response.
Albie Lopez
Lopez (3-3, 3.38) has not pitched since May 9 when he left with a strained groin. Before the injury, Lopez had worked seven or more innings all but once. He ranks second in the league in run support. Lopez is 4-1 lifetime against Detroit with a 3.02 ERA.
Holt (3-3, 5.32) is trying to become the first Tiger with four wins this season. He is making his first lifetime appearance against Tampa Bay. Holt took the loss in his last outing, allowing five runs on eight hits in 52/3 innings. His last win was May 2 against Texas.
