Roommate sought in stabbing

RIDGE MANOR -- Authorities are looking for a man who is accused of stabbing his roommate's boyfriend. L.J. Walker, 35, of 33428 Ridge Manor Blvd. in Ridge Manor, is wanted on aggravated battery charges. According to sheriff's reports, Walker stabbed his roommate's boyfriend, Garfield Williams, after Williams told Walker he had to leave her house Monday. Williams escorted Walker out of the home and, when he turned to go back inside, authorities say Walker stabbed him in the back and arm with a utility knife, leaving deep slashes. Williams was taken to Dade City Hospital, where he received several stitches and was released. Walker is missing. A friend of Walker's told police he drove Walker to Stewart's Store in Lacoochee in Pasco County after the incident but had not seen him since.

Man shot with BB gun; three youths arrested

BROOKSVILLE -- Three teens were arrested Monday after shooting at a man with BB guns. One of the youths, a 14-year-old, faces a charge of aggravated battery after authorities say he hit his target, neighbor Mark Smyly, leaving a bleeding welt on the man's back. The two other teens, who officials say aimed at the man but did not hit him, were charged with aggravated assault. The Times is withholding their names because of their ages. The teen accused of hitting Smyly told sheriff's officials the two other boys' BB guns were not loaded. He was taken to the Hernando County Jail and later transferred to the juvenile detention center in Ocala. The two other teens were arrested and later released to their parents.
