Jason Lee Oates, 23, of 17517 Laura Lee Drive was found guilty by Circuit Judge Richard Tombrink on one count of trafficking in more than 200 grams -- 7 ounces -- of cocaine. Parent sues after son's injury at Fox ChapelBROOKSVILLE -- A parent is suing the Hernando County School Board, saying a Fox Chapel Middle School student was injured while a teacher left a classroom unsupervised. According to the lawsuit, classmates were throwing paper airplanes when a boy ducked to avoid one and was pushed by another student. As a result, he smashed his teeth on a desk. The boy's father, Steven Langone, blames the injury on lack of teacher supervision and wants the school district to pay more than $15,000 in damages, including the boy's dental bill. Man arrested on child molestation chargeSPRING HILL -- A man faces child molestation charges. Kevin D. Miller, 25, of 1339 Pilgrim Ave. in Spring Hill was arrested Monday on suspicion of fondling a 14-year-old boy, authorities said. According to reports, Miller coaxed the boy to his Spring Hill home with promises they would play computer games. Instead, he molested the boy and took photographs of him with his clothes on, a sheriff's report said. Miller was released from the Hernando County jail on $1,500 bail Tuesday. Man suffers nose injury after dog bites his faceA man was bitten on the face by a dog Tuesday, leaving a deep gash and possibly breaking his nose. Larry J. Grose, 37, was at the home of Joseph Batista, 13211 Don Loop southwest of Brooksville. He was considering hiring Batista to build an engine for him. Batista's dog came up to Grose and Batista warned him not to pet the dog, a witness said. As Grose rose from a chair, his face moved toward the dog and it bit him on the bridge of his nose. Grose was taken to Oak Hill Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released. The dog was taken to a veterinarian by the owner and later quarantined by Animal Services for observation. Animal Services officials could not be reached for comment.
