Bodybuilding

The Mr. and Miss Wesley Chapel Bodybuilding Contest is today at 7 p.m. at the high school gym.

Football coach John Castelamare, founder of Ridgewood's bodybuilding contest when he coached there, has made the event an annual showcase at Wesley Chapel. Twenty-eight contestants will compete for 11 trophies in male, female and pairs categories.

Admission is $3 for students, $5 for adults. For information, call (813) 794-8761.

Golf

The fifth annual Gulf High Alumni Scramble is June 3 at Fox Hollow Golf Club at 1 p.m.

The cost is $75 and includes green fee, cart, range balls, door prizes and competition prizes. A steak dinner will follow and $5,000 will be awarded for a hole-in-one on No. 8.

Baseball

The Dunedin Blue Jays will host a high school home run derby June 1, featuring players from area schools. The contest begins at 5 p.m., to be followed by the Jays game at 6:30 against Jupiter.

One senior representative from each area high school is eligible to compete. Each player will have seven outs in the first round, with the top four advancing to the final round. Each finals participant will have 10 outs.

Admission for all students with a high school ID is free.

The Gator Baseball Camp is June 11-14 at the Land O'Lakes High ballfield.

The 15th annual Ram Booster Club Baseball Camp will be held at Ridgewood High from May 30 to June 2.

The camp will run in two sessions: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for participants ages 7 to 12; and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. for participants ages 13 and 14.

Campers are expected to attend in appropriate baseball clothing.

The cost is $50 and includes tuition, insurance and a T-shirt.

The Knight Time Baseball Kamp will be June 4-7 at River Ridge High.

The camp is run by River Ridge coach Jack Homko and is open to players in the seventh through ninth grades.

The cost is $55 and includes tuition, insurance and a T-shirt. Players have to provide their own gloves, shoes and bat.

Softball

Pasco-Hernando Community College will host a fastpitch softball camp at its west Pasco campus June 11-14 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The cost is $50 per player and the camp is open to players from T-ball through high school.

Volleyball

River Ridge will host a volleyball camp from May 31 to June 3 in two daily sessions.

Session 1 is from 8 a.m. to noon and Session II is from 1 to 5 p.m.

The cost for one session is $50. The cost for both sessions is $90 and includes a T-shirt.

Basketball

Gulf High boys coach Steve Feldman and girls coach Cynthia Steele will hold the Buc Basketball Camp from May 30 to June 1 in the school's gym.

The camp is daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost is $44 in advance and $69 for walk-ups and includes a T-shirt, handbook and pizza party.

The Mitchell Mustangs Girls Basketball Camp is June 4-8.

Session I, which is for players ages 8 to 12, is scheduled each day from 8 to 11 a.m. Session II is for players 13 to 17 and is from noon to 3 p.m.

Girls coach Steve Knobl and his staff run the camp and the cost of $55 includes a T-shirt and insurance. The deadline to register is May 25.

The boys basketball camp, conducted by coach Tom Jessee, is June 11-14.

For players in grades three to five, the camp is from 8 to 11:30 a.m. For sixth- to ninth-graders the camp is from noon to 3:30 p.m.

The cost, if registered by June 5, is $45.

The cost for walk-ups is $55 and also includes a T-shirt.

The Summer Days Tennis and Golf Day Camp will be held June 4-15 at Saint Leo University.
