CANDLELIGHT VIGIL/DANCE: The American Legion Post 147, 17431 Gunn Highway, is sponsoring a candlelight vigil and dance social from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. After the vigil, there will be a dance social featuring a mix of ballroom, disco, Latin, '50s and '60s songs and line dancing. Entertainment will be disc jockey music by MARSAL. Veterans with valid membership cards to any veteran's organization will be admitted free. TuesdayOLD SAYBROOK WOES: The Hillsborough County staff will hold a public meeting about traffic problems along Old Saybrook Avenue in Carrollwood. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Essrig Elementary School, 13131 Lynn Road. A recommendation to county commissioners on solving the problems will be based on this meeting, which is part of the county's Residential Traffic Control Program. For information, call (813) 272-5275. DEADLINE FOR MATURE DRIVING CLASS: Registration deadline is today for the AARP's mature driving class. AARP will offer its 55 Alive/Mature Driving class from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The two-day class does not involve driving. Classes will be in the Club Room at Town & Country Hospital, 6001 Webb Road. Bring driver's license to first class. Insurance discounts may be available. Classes are offered at a variety of locations each month. Classes with fewer than 20 registrants are subject to cancellation. Fee is $10 a person. For information, call (813) 935-9418. WednesdayNETWORK OF CHRISTIAN WOMEN: The Network of Christian Women will host a luncheon meeting from noon to 1 p.m. at the Embassy Suites on Spectrum Boulevard near the University of South Florida. Meet women of various ages and denominations to socialize, eat lunch and enjoy an uplifting message. Monthly meetings will resume in the fall.
