Inmate hospitalized after fall at loading dockBy Times staff writers © St. Petersburg Times, published May 26, 2000 LARGO -- A Pinellas County Jail inmate was injured Thursday when he slipped off a loading dock and lost his grip on a supply cart, which fell on him. Janusz Toczek, 46, of 10350 58th St. N in Pinellas Park was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg after the 3 p.m. accident. He was being evaluated and his condition was unavailable. Sheriff's Office spokesman Cal Dennie said Toczek is a trusty and was working on the loading dock in the medium-security wing. He fell while pushing a 200-pound cart. Toczek sustained head and neck injuries, he said. Toczek is serving a sentence for violation of a domestic violence injunction. Leadership Pinellas deadline extendedThe deadline to apply for the Leadership Pinellas program has been extended until today. Those selected discuss topics such as government, education and human services with community and political leaders over the course of nine months. The program costs $850 per person.
