Woman killed on U.S. 19 was from HomosassaBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published May 30, 2000 The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the woman who was hit and killed May 20 on U.S. 19 as Linda Darlene Cinko, 40, of 2500 S Pine Ridge, Homosassa. According to reports, Cinko had left Jim's Club 19 about 9:45 p.m. and was crossing U.S. 19 when she was hit by a 1998 Pontiac Firebird driven by Edwin Leroy Arnold Jr., 42, of Homosassa. Cinko died at the scene, near the Bell Villa Motel & Mobile Home Park. Neither Arnold nor his son, Edwin Leroy Arnold III, 20, were injured. FHP officials said they did not issue Arnold a citation because the crash was accidental. Car drawing will reward good school attendanceCRYSTAL RIVER -- The final drawing for the Wheels for Attendance program will be at 3 p.m. today at Crystal Motor Car Co., 1035 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. Jewel and Steve Lamb of Crystal Automotive Group have offered a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro or a 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup to be awarded to one high school student. To be eligible, students must have missed four days or less during the entire school year.
