The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the woman who was hit and killed May 20 on U.S. 19 as Linda Darlene Cinko, 40, of 2500 S Pine Ridge, Homosassa.
According to reports, Cinko had left Jim's Club 19 about 9:45 p.m. and was crossing U.S. 19 when she was hit by a 1998 Pontiac Firebird driven by Edwin Leroy Arnold Jr., 42, of Homosassa. Cinko died at the scene, near the Bell Villa Motel & Mobile Home Park.
Neither Arnold nor his son, Edwin Leroy Arnold III, 20, were injured. FHP officials said they did not issue Arnold a citation because the crash was accidental.
