PORT RICHEY -- Parents who want to check the safety of their child car seats can take them into Gateway Honda, at U.S. 19 and Ridge Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 16.

Certified technicians will be on hand to check the safety of the seats and the way the seats are installed. Parents are asked to bring their car seats and the children who use them. Car seats that are deemed unsafe will be replaced free of charge. In October, 44 car seats were checked, and not one was properly installed.

The program is sponsored by the Area Agency on the Aging.
