Celebrating women in arts

The Fairly Lilith Celebration of Women in Art festivities last weekend in St. Petersburg drew hundreds of spectators to the performing artists presentation at the Museum of Fine Arts and to the visual artists exhibition at the Galleries at Salt Creek. In the visual arts, sculptor Judith Copeland of Melbourne Beach took the top prize, followed by mixed media artist Allison Massari.

More than 300 performing and visual artists from across Florida entered the juried competition, with 85 chosen to participate. The exhibition by visual artists will remain on display at the Galleries at Salt Creek until June 15. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
