ST. PETERSBURG -- Writer Rosalie Peck was named best of show among performing artists at the May 26 Fairly Lilith Celebration of Women in Arts, and Allison Massari won second among visual artists.

Selected from more than 200 applicants, 11 performing artists and 82 visual artists participated at the Fine Arts Museum and Salt Creek Artworks.

The visual art will be on display through June 15 at Salt Creek Artworks, 1600 Fourth St. S.

About 100 people saw the performers at the Fine Arts Museum and another 400 attended the art show at Salt Creek, said Marilyn Armstrong, event director. Armstrong is president of the Marly Group, the museum support group that put on the event.

Both women are from St. Petersburg.

Other performing artists honored include Kat White Star, Sarasota (singing), second place; and honorable mentions went to Tanya Quillan, Tampa (singing); and Holly Eisengart, St. Petersburg (dance).

Other visual artists honored include Judith Copeland, Melbourne Beach (sculpture), best of show.
