Guy has been with Verizon since 1970 and was manager of project management. FINANCIAL: Jeff Merkow has been named commodity trading adviser for Sterling Commodities Trading Inc., Treasure Island. Merkow was employed by Nextrade, Clearwater. Randolph M. Loos has been named senior vice president of investments for A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc., Clearwater. Loos is a financial consultant for the company in Clearwater. Frank Wainscott has been named to the 2001-2002 edition of Lexington's Who's Who Registry of Executive and Professionals. Wainscott is president and chief executive of Waterford Financial Inc. and Waterford Investor Services Inc. INSURANCE: Mark Linsky has been promoted to sales manager for Fortis Benefits Insurance Co.'s Tampa group sales office. Linsky joined Fortis in 1999 as a sales representative. LEGAL: Langfred W. White has been named senior vice president and general counsel of ICC Financial Group. White was a lawyer with Kimpton, Burke, White & Heiden, Clearwater. The law firm will now be known as Kimpton, Burke & Heiden. MEDIA: Dean Manone has been named president of Eller Media Co.'s Tampa Bay division. Manone was a national sales executive for Patrick Media, before it was acquired by Eller Media in 1995. ORGANIZATIONS: Richard Holley has been named first vice president of the Amusement & Music Operators Association. Holley is president of Southeast Game Brokers Inc., Tampa. Jennifer V. Komando has been named office coordinator for Florida Litigation Support Services, Tampa. Komando was office administrator for Nova Data. Lowery Park Zoo Endowment Foundation announced the following appointments: Lewis H. Hill III, director and chairman; Ann O'Connell, director and foundation secretary; Sandra Callahan, treasurer; Chris Sullivan, director; and David A. Straz Jr., director. Hill is a lawyer for Foley & Lardner Law Offices, Tampa; O'Connell is managing partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Sullivan is chief executive of Outback Steakhouse Inc.; and Straz is chairman of Southern Exchange Bank. REAL ESTATE:Arvida Realty Services, Clearwater, announced the following: Christopher "Chris" Cope has been promoted to chief operating officer for Arvida Mortgage Services; and David E. Vargas has been named vice president/chief information officer. Cope was executive vice president; and Vargas was a private consultant and owner of Paragon Network Services. Robert Goldschmidt has been named senior vice president and regional director of the Florida region for Liberty Property Trust, Tampa. Goldschmidt established Liberty's Tampa office and served as city manager for the region. Cindy Sper has been named 2000 Realtor of the Year by Westchase. Sper is a broker/associate for Arvida Realty Services, Carrollwood. RECRUITMENT: Darren Land has been named executive recruiter for McConnell, Mae & Miller Executive Search, Clearwater. Land was a recruiter for the Navy. TECHNOLOGY:Affinity International Travel Systems Inc., St. Petersburg, announced the following appointments to its board of directors: John Singleton, Jim Vecchione and C. Rex Welton. Singleton was general manager of business development for IBM/Intergrated Systems Solution Corp.; Vecchione was chief operating officer for Datalex Communications USA; and Welton is chairman of Welton Sports. Manny Fernandez has been appointed to the board of directors for OpenNetwork Technologies, Clearwater. Fernandez is managing director of SI Ventures. Edmund Stuczynski has been named vice president of operations for Group Technologies Corp., Tampa.
