    DivorceCare schedules support group meetings

    CLEARWATER -- DivorceCare seminars and support group meetings are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Clearwater First Church of the Nazarene, 1875 Nursery Road, Clearwater. Each session features a videotape, followed by a support group meeting. Topics to be covered include facing anger, depression, loneliness, financial survival, child care, new relationships and more. Child care and other kids' activities are available. Call Dolly Hickey, 446-3130, or come early to a session. There is a one-time $10 charge.

    Youth literacy program needs children's books

    CLEARWATER -- Children's books are needed by the Pinellas County Rolling Readers, a youth literacy program that helps youngsters in the county school system.

    Volunteers from throughout the county read aloud or tutor elementary children.

    If you can donate books or money or want to volunteer, call Jennifer Nagel, community outreach specialist, 443-7198.

    Community Care group needs volunteers

    CLEARWATER -- The Gulf Coast Community Care Program, based in Clearwater, is looking for volunteers for the Adopt-A-Grandchild program and Linking Lifetimes.

    Adopt-A-Grandchild needs mature adults 50 and older to spend time with children on a one-to-one basis. It requires from two to four hours a week to establish a close, loving relationship with the child.

    Linking Lifetimes needs volunteers 35 and older who would spend two to four hours a week participating in various activities with a child, acting as a role model and a mentor.
