Daily fishing report

You're in your powerboat coming to intersecting channels when a sailboat under power comes from a different direction and is about to go through the same intersection. Which vessel is privileged and which is burdened?

It's dark and a vessel has a yellow light over three white lights. What is the vessel saying? What action should you take?

It's kingfish season and you're along the ship's channel fighting the big one when you hear five short horn blasts from an oncoming tanker. Do you know what the captain of the vessel is telling you (besides get out of the way) and do you know what your response should be?

You come across a dredge displaying two black balls, one over the other, to her port side. Which way should you go?

Confused? Take a U.S. Coast Guard-approved safe boating course and maybe you will know the answers to these and many other questions.

Remember, safe boating is no accident.
