Movies: Top Five

Current movies recommended by the Times.

1. Swordfish -- John Travolta is back in the groove as criminal mastermind of a sexy, violent computer-hacker heist. Two X-Men, Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman, co-star.

2. Memento -- Ordinary murder mystery becomes something special since the story is told backward. Clever technique makes this limited-run film worth seeking out.

3. Moulin Rouge -- You'll love and hate Baz Luhrmann's film, sometimes in the same scene. Gaudy, bawdy and always kinetic, even when the material gets stale.

4. Shrek -- A lovable ogre (voice of Mike Myers) rescues a princess (Cameron Diaz) and movie plans for families in DreamWorks' animated trifle.

5. Angel Eyes -- Jennifer Lopez drops the diva routine for a strong performance as a depressed cop figuring out a mysterious "guardian angel" (Jim Caviezel).
