Channel 13 official expected to move onBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published June 8, 2000 An announcement is expected today that Dave Boylan, vice president and general manager at WTVT-CH. 13, will be leaving the Tampa-based Fox affiliate to take over the general manager's job at KTTV, the Fox-owned station in Los Angeles. Boylan, 48, came to WTVT in 1997 from Greensboro, N.C., and presided over a number of changes -- increasing the hours of news broadcasts and building the station into one of the network's top-rated affiliates. Boylan, who is expected to start work at KTTV Friday morning, declined to comment. He will replace Diana L. Vargas -- the first Hispanic woman to head an English-language station in a major market -- who resigned in May and was expected to stay at KTTV until June 30. © St. Petersburg Times.
