Catch the 1999 Women's Professional Softball League's Tampa Bay FireStix taking on the Ohio Pride in the league's season opener at 7 p.m. today in Plant City Stadium, the former spring training site of the Cincinnati Reds, 1900 South Park Road, Plant City. The event also includes sky divers, Frisbee-catching dogs, interactive games, a pie-eating contest and pitching speed tests. Admission is $6 box seats, $5 general admission, $3 for 14 and younger. Stroll through 20 years of acquisitions when Elaine Gustafson, curator of contemporary art, gives a Gallery Tour at 6 p.m. today at the Tampa Museum of Art, 600 N Ashley Drive, Tampa. Featured are works from the museum's permanent collection gathered from 1979 to 1999, which are on display in the Center Gallery. Free. Call (813) 274-8130.

The curtain rises again today on a Iowa town called River City when Playhouse 19's production of The Music Man continues at 865 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. Shows for this classic musical are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through June 25. Tickets are $12. Call (352) 563-1333.

You'll want your MTV tonight when the high-energy 2000 MTV Movie Awards are hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex in the City). Categories include Best Kiss (nominees include Hilary Swank and Chloe Sevigny in Boys Don't Cry) and Best Fight (nominees include Edward Norton vs. himself in Fight Club). Entertainers performing include 'N Sync, Metallica and D'Angelo. 9 p.m.

Pledge your love for the tunes of the '50s and '60s tonight on WEDU when Rock & Roll Graffiti strolls onto the TV screen. The new pledge special features 37 of the biggest hit-makers, including artists like Frankie Ford (Sea Cruise), Supreme Mary Wilson (Come See About Me), Jay Proctor (Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie) and more. 8 p.m.

Learn one of the severe consequences that stems from the quest for perfection on 48 Hours tonight when it airs a report on body dysmorphic disorder. 10 p.m.
