Summer Camps

Summer Camps

The Tampa Prep Summer Program is accepting applications for its various camps. The cost for all camps is $125 per week.

Girls volleyball will have two camps. The first will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 11-15 followed by another the week of June 18-22 at the same times. The camp will be run by Holly Santos, Tampa Prep's middle school coach.

The girls basketball camp will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 25-29. Varsity coach Suzanne Marfise will run it.

A.J. Hendrix, the baseball coach, will run two camps. Seventh- through 10th-graders will receive instruction from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 11-15. Players in fourth through sixth grades will play from 1 to 4 p.m. on the same days.

Middle school wrestling coach Bruno Quattrone will hold two camps, June 18-22 and June 25-29. Both sessions will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.

Joe Fenlon will lead two boys basketball camps for students in grades 6-10. The first will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 18-22. The second will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 25-29.

The Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation Department will offer a series of camps this summer at Leto High. The week-long camps will feature a different sport each week, and each camp has a limited registration.

The camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and are open to kids ages 9-17 except volleyball, which is open for kids 12-17. Each camper must bring a lunch.

The $5 cost per camp will be donated to the scholarship foundation of the Friends of the County Parks. Advanced registration is required.

The schedule is: Monday -- flag football; June 18 -- basketball; June 25 -- baseball; July 9 -- volleyball; July 16 -- soccer and July 23 -- tennis.
