District 5 and 12 Little League coaches are asked to call 893-8123 after each game to report the score. Coaches also are asked to be prepared to report some information about the game, such as the winning pitcher, leading hitters and key play in the game. If necessary, please include the spelling of players.

District 5

In major softball Monday, Meadowlawn defeated Cross Bayou 22-0. Winning pitcher Haley Forsyth recorded nine strikeouts and had three hits, including a double and a triple. Stephanie Davies hit a grand slam, Mikala Galloway was 2-for-4 and Lindsey McGory was 2-for-4.

In junior softball Monday, Northeast defeated Southwest 4-1. Amy McGathey and Emily Milroy combined for 12 strikeouts and allowed just four hits for Southwest, but Northeast's Lauren Timberlake won the pitchers duel. She had 10 strikeouts and allowed five hits in going the distance to earn the win.

In major softball Tuesday, Meadowlawn lost to Pinellas Park National 3-1. Sonyalie Pantojas was the winning pitcher, and she was supported by strong defense from Brittany Bjourn and Brittany Rose. Kayla Griffith had a triple and two RBI, and Kimmie Pierce had two hits.

Also Tuesday in major softball, Southwest beat Azalea 10-0. SaraBeth Meyers was the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit in going the distance.

In major baseball Tuesday, Baypoint defeated Cross Bayou 22-15. Baypoint scored four runs in the first inning, five in the third, seven in the fourth and six in the fifth. Wesley Smith was the winning pitcher and was 4-for-5 with a three-run home run. Jeff Ewin was 2-for-4 with four RBI. Carl Teague was 3-for-4 with four runs, Brian James was 3-for-5 and Justin Cleveland had a two-run triple.

In major baseball Wednesday, Southwest defeated Baypoint 4-2. Southwest trailed 1-0 early but rallied to score all of of its runs in the fourth inning. Darrion Pedro pitched well but took the loss for Baypoint, going the distance and allowing six hits. Baypoint's Smith was 2-for-2, making him 6-for-7 in the first two games of the tournament, and Ewin was 2-for-3, making him 4-for-7 in the tournament.
