Running

Former South Florida and current Florida State cross country coach Bob Braman will conduct a clinic Tuesday at Gulf High School's Des Little Stadium in New Port Richey, the only Tampa Bay location for his statewide series of lectures.

There are no sign-ups required for the clinic, scheduled for 3-7 p.m. It's free to all middle school, high school and college-age runners, and video-tape analysis of running technique will be available.

Tennis

Strings & Things will offer three one-week clinics for juniors June 23-26 and June 25-28 at Silverthorn Community Center.

Each Monday-Thursday session will meet from 9-10:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Beginners courses are $55 per week or $16 per day. Advanced beginners to intermediate classes are $70 per week or $21 per day. For information, call Judy Jeanette, (352) 684-4321.

Soccer

The Hernando Heat Youth Soccer League will have tryouts for competitive teams 6-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday at Delta Woods Park.

On Monday, the under-9 and u-10 players will try out at the bottom fields. Under-12 and u-14 girls will be on the top fields. On Tuesday, the under-11 and u-12 players will be on the bottom fields with under-15 and u-16 girls on the top fields.

On Wednesday, under-13 and u-14 will be on the bottom fields and under-17 and u-18 girls will be on the top. On Thursday, under-15 and u-16 will be on the bottom fields, under-17 and u-18 girls on the top.
