© St. Petersburg Times, 1. SHELDON ROAD AT LINEBAUGH AVENUE, MAY 25, 8:30 A.M.: A 74-year-old woman was getting out of a 1985 Mercury at a gas station without putting it in park. She was dragged by the vehicle as it began to move. Her leg was pinned in the door after the vehicle hit a parked 1987 Mercury. She was taken to Town & Country Hospital. 2. INTERSTATE 75 AT FLETCHER AVENUE, MAY 25, 9:30 A.M.: A 41-year-old man was headed south in a 2000 Hyundai when he fell asleep and rear-ended a 1997 Dodge truck. He was charged with careless driving. 3. INTERSTATE 75 AT BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD, MAY 25, 10:45 A.M.: A plastic bucket fell out of a southbound 1992 Chevrolet into the path of a southbound 1997 Nissan. The Chevrolet fled the scene. 4. SKIPPER ROAD AT NEBRASKA AVENUE, MAY 25, 11:35 A.M.: A westbound 1973 Datsun pickup pulled out of a driveway into the path of an eastbound 1993 Plymouth. The Datsun driver, a 70-year-old man, was charged with violation of right of way. 5. VAN DYKE ROAD AT LAKESHORE DRIVE, MAY 26, 12:30 P.M.: A westbound 2001 Honda rear-ended a 1984 Ford that was stopped for traffic ahead. The Ford was then pushed into the rear of a 1998 Plymouth. The Honda driver, a 25-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving. 6. NEBRASKA AVENUE AT FLETCHER BOULEVARD, MAY 27, 12:30 P.M.: A southbound 1971 Ford rear-ended a 1985 Toyota that was stopped for traffic. The Ford driver, a 27-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. 7. NEBRASKA AVENUE AT SUNSET LANE, MAY 27, 6:46 P.M.: A southbound 1997 Ford turned left into the path of a northbound 2001 Chrysler van. The passenger in the Ford, a 77-year-old woman, was taken to University Community Hospital, Tampa. 8. REGENTS PARK DRIVE AT CYPRESS SHADOWS AVENUE, MAY 27, 9:10 P.M.: An eastbound 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle lost control around a curve and hit a light pole head-on. The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, was thrown off the bike and landed on a flood light on the ground. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital. Neighbors told police that two motorcycles had been racing prior to the crash. 9. VAN DYKE ROAD AT DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, MAY 27, 9:50 P.M.: An unknown vehicle turned left into the path of an eastbound 1990 Toyota, then fled the scene. 10. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT STALL ROAD, MAY 28, 8:45 A.M.: A southbound 1993 Toyota ran a red light and hit an eastbound 1987 BMW broadside. The Toyota driver, a 28-year-old man, was charged with running a red light. 11. SILVER BROOK DRIVE AT REGENTS PARK DRIVE, MAY 28, 5:20 P.M.: An 11-year-old boy was headed north on his bicycle when he swerved left thinking a northbound 1991 Mercury had turned. Instead, the Mercury hit him. The child, who was not wearing a safety helmet, injured his left arm but refused medical treatment. 12. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT HUNTERS GREEN DRIVE, MAY 28, 8:45 P.M.: A southbound 2000 Buick rear-ended a 1997 Ford truck, pushing it into the rear of a 1999 Toyota truck. The Buick driver, a 76-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. The Ford driver, a 45-year-old man, along with a passenger, a 40-year-old man, were taken to University Community Hospital. 13. FLETCHER AVENUE AT INTERSTATE 275, MAY 29, 8:50 A.M.: A westbound 1992 Toyota ran a red light and hit a southbound 1997 Honda broadside. The Toyota driver, a 54-year-old woman, said she had been looking down at directions prior to the crash. She was charged with running a red light. The Honda driver, a 28-year-old woman, was taken to University Community Hospital. 14. WATERS AVENUE AT SHELDON ROAD, MAY 29, 3:45 P.M.: A westbound 1989 GMC truck turned left on a yellow light into the path of an eastbound 1993 Ford. The GMC driver, a 64-year-old man, was charged with violation of right of way. 15. FLETCHER AVENUE AT PADDOCK AVENUE, MAY 29, 4:15 P.M.: A southbound 1993 Cadillac was pulling out of an apartment complex into the inside lane. Traffic in this lane stopped to allow the vehicle to make a left turn but the Cadillac hit the side of a westbound 1990 Mitsubishi in the outside lane. The Cadillac driver, a 24-year-old man, was charged with violation of right of way. 16. ANDERSON ROAD AT GUNN HIGHWAY, MAY 29, 4:50 P.M.: An eastbound 1986 Pontiac pulled out of a private parking lot into the path of a northbound 1987 Oldsmobile. The Pontiac driver, a 37-year-old man, was charged with violation of right of way. 17. ZAMBITO ROAD AT DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, MAY 30, 4:56 P.M.: A westbound 1991 Ford rear-ended a 2000 Toyota. The Ford driver, a 75-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving. 18. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT AMBERLY DRIVE, MAY 29, 6 P.M.: A northbound 1998 Honda rear-ended a 2001 Ford. The Honda driver, a 54-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving. 19. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT LAKEVIEW ROAD, MAY 30, 6:40 A.M.: A southbound 1999 Isuzu truck rear-ended a 1989 Honda. The Isuzu driver, a 39-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. 20. FLORIDA AVENUE AT INTERSTATE 275, MAY 30, 11:55 A.M.: A westbound 1990 Chevrolet rear-ended a 1996 Toyota. The Chevrolet driver, a 27-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. 21. FLETCHER AVENUE AT FLORIDA AVENUE, MAY 30, 3:13 P.M.: A 2001 Ford sport utility vehicle rear-ended a 1996 Nissan that was stopped for traffic. The Ford driver, a 41-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. 22. PLANTATION BOULEVARD AT BELLFIELD DRIVE, MAY 30, 5 P.M.: A southbound 1996 Nissan turned left into the path of a westbound 1991 Ford. The Nissan driver, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. 23. HIGHWOODS PRESERVE AT BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD, MAY 31, 12:15 A.M.: An eastbound 1999 Ford rear-ended a 1994 Honda. The Ford driver, a 23-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving. 24. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT LAKE CARROLL WAY, MAY 31, 6:40 A.M.: A northbound 1999 Mazda traveling in the right turn lane proceeded straight and through a safety zone. The Mazda rear-ended a 2001 Honda, fled the scene on foot and left no information with the other driver. 25. ANDERSON ROAD AT ELMFIELD DRIVE, MAY 31, 11:28 A.M.: A northbound 1994 Ford was traveling 75 mph in a 45 mph speed limit. The Ford lost control, skidded off the road, smashed through a wooden fence into the backyard of a home, continued on through a screen room enclosure and skidded across a swimming pool. When the car stopped, it was partly submerged in the pool. The driver, a 19-year-old man, was charged with careless driving and taken to University Community Hospital Carrollwood with minor injuries. 26. LUTZ LAKE FERN ROAD AT HERITAGE HARBOR PARKWAY, MAY 31, 12:46 P.M.: An eastbound 1985 Mercury rear-ended a 1997 Ford truck. The Mercury driver, a 16-year-old boy, was charged with careless driving. The injured were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. 27. INTERSTATE 75 AT BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD, MAY 31, 3:25 P.M.: A southbound 1993 Ford truck began to fishtail from carrying too much weight in the rear.
