CLOWNS ABOUND: More than 50 clowns, face-painters, balloon makers, stilt walkers, mimes, magicians and more will populate The Pier, 800 Second Ave. NE, St. Petersburg from noon to 4 p.m. A tribute to Indy Smith, one of The Pier's favorite clowns. MONDAY

NIGHT HIKE: Bring you flashlight and be amazed by how many creatures are watching you in Boyd Hill Nature Park, 1101 Country Club Way S, St. Petersburg. A ranger leads and uses all the senses to explore the park, including a few tricks that can only be done in the dark. Meet in parking lot of library at 8:30 p.m. Free. Call 893-7326.

TUESDAY

CHORAL PERFORMANCE: The Basics Student Choir of Picayune Mississippi performs at 1:30 p.m. in the Princess Martha, 411 First Ave. N, St. Petersburg. The 75-member choir, made up of seventh- through 12th-graders, has toured throughout the states, including the capital. Repertoire includes music from spirituals to contemporary. Free. WEDNESDAY

BIG BAND DANCES: A series of summer dances every Wednesday through Aug. 8 (excluding July 4th) featuring the band Caliente at the Treasure Island Community Center, 120 108th Ave., Treasure Island. Salsa/mambo dance classes at 8 p.m., followed by dance at 8:30 p.m. $5.50 includes dance and class. Call 547-4575.

FRIDAY

A MORNING WITH THE MAYOR: Mayor Rick Baker is the guest speaker at an annual fundraising breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. Proceeds benefit Alpha, a program providing housing and services to homeless pregnant women and teens, new mothers with infants and families experiencing crisis pregnancies. $25 reservations required; pay at the door. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE: Piano and vocal masterpieces by Russian composers are featured at 7:30 p.m. in The Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Winners of the Artists International competition in New York, Yelena Lewinson, Eugenia Pilyavina and Gregory Troussov perform. $15, $10 seniors, $8 students and $5 children. Call 822-3590.

SATURDAY

STORY CORNER: Take a trip with Elmo and his friends to the Sesame Street Aquarium at 10 a.m. in The Pier Aquarium, (second floor of The Pier) 800 Second Ave. NE, St. Petersburg. Play the part of a fish, dolphin, whale or sea lion in this adventure. Donations appreciated. 895-7437.

SUZUKI STRINGS: More than 25 students of Suzuki Strings, as young as 3 and through their teens, perform at noon at The Pier. Free. Call 821-6164.

JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION: The annual event kicks off from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Campbell Park, 601 14th St. S, St. Petersburg. The family festival includes children's activities, food vendors, giveaways, historical reenactors, African dancers, Negro league baseball and a variety of musical performances from hip hop to gospel. Headliner is 11-year-old hip hop sensation Nickie B. Sunday a gospel and folk music extravaganza with creative dance, poetry and a restorative service is held at 4 p.m. in Mount Zion Progressive Baptist Church, 955 20th St. S, St. Petersburg. The final Juneteenth activity is the Middle Passage Candlelight Vigil at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Straub Park, corner of Fifth Avenue N and Beach Drive. The sacred ritual honors all who traveled to the Americas through the Atlantic and calls for forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration. Everything is free. Call 821-3833.
