GULFPORT -- A clothing store owner was dragged down the street by a car Friday as she struggled with two shoplifters trying to make a getaway, police said.
Song P. Eisenhart, owner of Yes Fashions at 5007 Gulfport Blvd., was scuffling with the passenger in the car.
"She and the passenger grabbed onto each other," said Gulfport police Lt. Michael Quill. "At one point, she was inside the car fighting with the passenger. Half of her body was in the car, and half of her was outside the car."
Witnesses said Eisenhart, 53, held on as the car traveled about 200 feet. She was dragged at least part of the way, suffering numerous scrapes and bruises. She was treated at St. Anthony's Hospital and was released Friday, said Quill.
Two St. Petersburg teens were arrested on charges of strong-arm robbery: Markesha Renee Lemon, 19, of 1029 19th Ave. S and Tracy L. Wall, 17, of 4300 16th Ave. S.
The incident occurred about 10 a.m. Friday. Eisenhart scuffled with the teens inside the store, as they backed out of a parking space, and as they drove down Gulfport Boulevard, police said.
In an arrest affidavit, police said the teens took a $24 pair of jeans.
