DADE CITY -- A Dade City man told deputies that someone broke into his house and stole seven guns worth about $2,600, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office reported.
Daniel Hull, 44, of 38520 Hart Drive said he left the guns in plain view in his bedroom after he got home from a local shooting range Sunday afternoon, according to reports. He told deputies that he did not secure the guns before leaving the house for his job as a pizza cook.
Five handguns, a double-barreled shotgun and a rifle were stolen. The thief also took a box of shotgun shells, reports said.
There were no signs of forced entry to Hull's rented mobile home, and deputies believe the thief got in by opening the unlocked window on the front door, reports said.
Deputies have no suspects in the case.
